Korzyści praktyki sharentingu oraz potencjalne zagrożenia dla prywatności i rozwoju tożsamości cyfrowej dziecka

Abstract

Geneza sharentingu wiąże się bezpośrednio z dynamicznym rozwojem technologii, a w szczególności z rosnącą popularnością mediów społecznościowych. Termin ten stanowi połączenie słów w języku angielskim sharing (udostępnianie) oraz parenting (rodzicielstwo) i oznacza praktykę aktywnego publikowania przez rodzica materiałów wizualnych z życia swojego dziecka. Celem artykułu jest analiza wpływu sharentingu na rozwój dzieci oraz próba odpowiedzi na pytanie, czym jest odpowiedzialny sharenting. Omówione zostaną zagrożenia płynące z praktyk sharentingowych w kontekście różnych stanów prywatności, motywy podejmowania przez rodziców tej formy komunikacji, a także pozytywne aspekty praktyki sharentingu w rozwoju relacji rodzinnych.

The origins of ‘sharenting’ are directly related to the dynamic development of technology, and in particular to the growing popularity of social media. The term is a portmanteau of the words ‘sharing’ and ‘parenting’ and refers to the practice of a parent actively publishing visual materials from their child’s life. The aim of the article is to analyze the impact of sharing on children’s development and to try to answer the question of what responsible sharing is. The risks of sharing practices in the context of privacy, the motives for parents to undertake this form of communication, as well as the positive aspects of sharing practices in the development of family relationships will be discussed.
