Abstract

This article is part of a larger study entitled The Russian Esoteric Prose of Early Twentieth-Century. The article deals with Olga Dmitriyevna Forsh’s theosophical prose which was written in Kiev between 1907-1908. Particular attention is given to the analysis of various esoteric motifs (Buddhist, Christian, Rosicrucian, Hermetic and Gnostic) in Forsh’s tale The Knight of Nuremberg (Rytsar’ iz Nurenberga) as well as in her short stories: The Elder of India (Indeiskii mudrets), Passion flower (Passiflora) and Before the Gates (Pered rratami).
