Wampiryczny Akunin - Historie cmentarne (Кладбйіценскйе ucmopuu)

Abstract

The article shows the themes of the book of short stories Kladbishchenskije istorii (Кладбй'іценскйе ucmopuu) stemming from the Boris Akunin’s (Grigory Shalvovich Chkhartishvili’s) fascination with the cemeteries and their direct connotations of life and death. Akunin presents six world necropoleis (in Moscow, London, Paris, Yokohama, New York and Jerusalem) dedicating to each of them two texts one written by Chkhartishvili and relating to the philosophical and existential spaee of the cemetery and the other one by Akunin a short story corresponding through its mood with the character of each of the cemeteries. This article aims as well at showing the peculiarities of the vampiric characters which occur in majority of the short stories and are based on the famous vampiric characters such as classical yampire, aristocratic vampire, yampiric lover, femme fatale.
