O literaturze rosyjskiej w „Dzienniku Wileńskim” (ogłoszenia wydawnicze i artykuły przeglądowe z lat 1818–1825)

Abstract

“Dziennik Wileński” is a scholarly and literary monthly periodical, published in Vilnius during the years 1805–1806, 1815–1830. The programme of the periodical includes the article Preface to Dziennik Wileński with a Description of the Geographical Location and Temperature of the City of Vilnius (1815). The paper explores the reception of Russian literature (from the Enlightenment and Romanticism periods) in “Dziennik Wileński” between 1818 and 1825. It consists of four parts: 1. Opening Remarks (a discussion of the history and aims of the periodical, the research of Jolanta Kowal), 2. Publishing Announcements (information on the Russian literature in the biographical section, concerning e.g. Nikolay Karamzin, Vasily Zhukovsky, Alexander Pushkin), 3. Review Articles (outlines of the history of Russian literature, e.g. translations of the articles by Nikolay Gretch and Alexander Bestuzhev), 4. Conclusions (an analysis of the reception of new publications representing various literary trends). The paper takes a comparative approach and includes both literary‑historical and press‑historical commentary.
