The article examines the role of emotions in the formation and reflection of conceptual and linguistic worldviews. The study proceeds from the assumption that language expresses not only thoughts but also feelings and reflects the emotional attitude of the speaking individual to reality. The research applies conceptual, cognitive, and pragmatic analysis combined with the main concepts of the theory of emotions. The empirical material consists of approximately three hundred discourse-fragments extracted from contemporary British and American fiction. The results demonstrate that emotions have a cognitive basis and participate in categorization, conceptualization, and verbalization of reality. The analysis also reveals that emotivity functions as a functional-semantic category expressing emotional states, value orientations, and culturally specific perceptions reflected in language and discourse.pl
W badaniu zastosowano analizę konceptualną, kognitywną i pragmatyczną połączoną z głównymi założeniami teorii emocji.
