Metoda badań | Zastosowano podejście teoretyczno-przeglądowe oparte na analizie literatury przedmiotu (opracowania zwarte, artykuły naukowe polskie i zagraniczne, raporty i inne publikacje). Oryginalność / wartość / implikacje / rekomendacje | W polskiej literaturze przedmiotu bra¬kuje badań nad znaczeniem równowagi płci we współczesnej gospodarce, szczególnie roli kobiet w życiu ekonomicznym i społecznym.
Purpose | The aim of the article is to present the role of women in the modern economy and the effects of their professional, entrepreneurial, and consumer activity. It is hypothesised that women’s activity in the economy is an important factor in its development, positively influencing economic growth, entrepreneurship and consumer behaviour. Research method | A theoretical and literature review approach was applied, based on books, academic articles, and other relevant publications. The study has a descriptive character and allows for the assessment of phenomena and trends related to women’s role in the economy. Results | Research indicates the growing role of women in the economy in macroeconomic, professional, business and consumer terms. Women contribute to GDP growth and to the more efficient use of labour resources, while also adding value to companies through their competencies, management styles, and adaptability. As consumers, they influence a significant share of household spending. Harnessing their potential fosters development, innovation, and economic stability. Originality / value / implications / recommendations | Polish literature lacks studies on the significance of gender balance in the modern economy, particularly regarding the role of women in economic and social life. This article fills that gap by combining the economic perspective with other aspects of women’s participation, which constitutes its added value.pl
