Dezaktualizacja leksyki konfesyjnej w języku rosyjskim epoki radzieckiej

Abstract

In the present article the problem of archaizing of religious lexicon in Russian of Soviet period is discussed. We may assume that crucial role in the process was played by extra linguistic factors. The policy of atheisation of Russian society realized by Communist Party resulted in the absence (or limitations in functioning) of some elements of both sacral and laic Orthodox culture. Consequently, the fight against religion, including the fight against Orthodox Church, influenced lexical and stylistic structure of the language of that period. Part of active vocabulary referring to elements of everyday life of Orthodox Church understood by the atheised society as a relict of the past epoch was included in the archaizing process.
