Актуализация подтекстов в современных постановках повести М. Булгакова Собачье сердце на сцене Одесского и Рижского театров

Abstract

The article analyzes the socio-cultural and literary contexts that are recognized in the productions of M. Bulgakov’s story Heart of a Dog on the stage of the Odessa Ukrainian Theatre and the Riga Theatre of Russian Drama. In the scenography of the performances and in the audience’s reception of the story, the influence of V. Bortko’s movie Heart of a Dog can be traced, which significantly influenced the readers’/viewers’ perception of the text of the story. The interpretation on the stage of the Riga Theatre is related to the context of the era: the aesthetics of the avant-garde.
