Abstract

The paper presents the current state of research on the history of Polish advocacy in the Second Republic of Poland. It illustrates that while writing the book M. Materniak-Pawłowska could have used more publications she did. The author should not neglect the important problem of defending the communists, who were accused of anti-state activity. It was great political and moral dilemma for the advocates. Nevertheless, the book is well written and it seems to be an important position in the research on history of Polish bar.
