Uwagi o tłumaczeniu włoskich apelatywów odproprialnych pochodzenia literackiego na język polski

Abstract

The paper discusses the translation of Italian single-word deproprial anthroponymic appellatives of literary origins, which have undergone the process of appellativization, into the Polish language. The sources of the appellatives derived from literature are listed, i.e. the Bible, mythology, national literature, classics. As to the translation of single-word metaphors of literary origins, other issues of importance are the following: the stylistic value of a given metaphor, the frequency of occurrences and their usage in either of the compared languages. The problem of cultural character of the analyzed appellatives is also discussed, both in the universal and national dimension.
