Abstract

The basic purpose of the article refers to the state of linguistic research on the names of precious minerals. In the sketch, I focus mainly on issues relating to the release of various aspects related to the lexical layer semantic field PRECIOUS STONES. I present the current state of research in the field of gemology terminology, explain the concept of gemology, gem. The article is not only theoretical; the referring main findings of linguistic work, devoted to the names of jewels. In this paper, I focus primarily on identifying unique precious minerals rank not only among jewelers and collectors, but also gemologists, philosophers, cultural studies, literary scholars and linguists. Particular attention will be paid to the need to undertake research, showing the names of the function of the precious stones in the structure and semantics of a literary work.
