Wtórne znaczenia metaforyczne literackich i filmowych nazw własnych (z twórczości dla dzieci) we współczesnej polszczyźnie

Abstract

The subject of the article are names (from the literary canon and from cartoons), which have metaphorical meaning in the contemporary Polish. The author describes a character trait and the appearance which are a base of discussed metaphorical meanings. Some names already have very strong connotations and the metaphorization process has been completed. (e.g. kopciuszek, śpiąca królewna, chłopek roztropek, muminek, superman). The testimony of this process is spelling with a small letter. In other cases, we observe a pragmatic process of acquiring metaphorical sense (e.g. Pomysłowy Dobromir, Koziołek Matołek, Shrek). In these cases, the spelling is unstable or the same as spelling of proper names. Idioms containing literary or film proper names (eg. Syndrom Piotrusia Pana) help to stabilize the metaphorical function of names. Many names in new semantic function are not yet registered in modern Polish lexicons (eg. gargamel, shrek, smurf, pokemon, pomysłowy Dobromir, Piotruś Pań, księżniczka na ziarnku grochu).
