Horror BIURKA według Ryszarda Kapuścińskiego – słowo w tekście publicystycznym a skrypty kulturowe

Abstract

The subject of this study, using methodology of the linguistic picture of the world and the theory of scripts, are components of cultural common ground, which are activated in the work of Ryszard Kapuściński by using the noun desk as well as other lexical units semantically related to it. The vision of reality that emerges from the journalistic texts is confronted with the script of OFFICE WORK, entrenched in Polish. This script, which has been abstracted from lexical data, brings essentially negative assessment of institutionalized administrative operations, so it has usually been activated by the reporter with the purpose of submitting criticism. The tendency is related to the specificity of the idiostyle and its axiological ground – the categories of freedom and equality. Therefore, the aim of activation of the script of OFFICE WORK was to express approval for individual creative work of the correspondent as well as to voice reluctance to hierarchical social structures and aversion to asymmetry in interpersonal relations.
