Wykład jako obligatoryjny gatunek mowy w dyskursie akademickim (na przykładzie definicji studenckich)

Abstract

In this article, we define lecture as a compulsory and focal genre of scientific discourse, in its teaching variety, found primarily in higher education. Our research material comes from spontaneous definitions offered by fifty students of the humanities. Having analyzed the corpus, we can conclude that, in students’ opinion: – lecture is a specific situation of communication that involves two parties: the sender (a lecturer, a specialist) and the collective receiver (listeners, students); – lecture is meant to serve the purposes of knowledge dissemination and problem explanation, in the form of a transparent and coherent construction; – lecture happens generally to be przystępny ‘student-friendly’, zrozumiały ‘easy to understand’, jasny ‘clear’ i klarowny ‘transparent’, but it can also be nużący ‘boring’, chaotyczny ‘chaotic’ and niezrozumiały ‘unclear’; – lecture does not foster creative work and does not develop one’s passions; – lecture is generally run directly, on the face-to-face basis, hardly ever by means of e-learning.
