Abstrakt: In the article, based on a comparative analysis of Ukrainian folk dumas and folklore of Muslim countries, the peculiarity of perception by foreign students of the actions and deeds of heroes of folklore is analyzed. Determined common and different in their outlook, in particular, foreign students from the Muslim East who study at the Sumy State University, Ukraine, watched and listened to video audio recordings of the Ukrainian folk dumas Cossack Golota, Marusia Boguslavka, Death of a Cossack in the Kodyma valley, analyzed characters’ images, expressed their understanding and attitude to their own actions compared with the heroes of the national works of their countries. Students from Iraq and Palestine in the Ukrainian people’s mind are captured by the heroic struggle and death of the Cossacks for their homeland, which is especially close and understandable for them, because it causes peculiar reflections about their fate and the fate of their people. Similarity manifests itself in the appeal of the heroes to the forces of nature for help. In this case, we can talk about the initial world outlook (fetishism, animism) in the folklore of the Ukrainian and Arab peoples. Students from Jordan pay attention to the fact that the heroes of the Ukrainian people’s dumas are ordinary Ukrainians with a deep inner world, but in their national song the heroes are the king, the general and other highly-ranked officials. The attention of students from Turkey is attracted by the image of Marusia Boguslavka as a wise, devoted woman to her Sultan, who calms his heart, heals the soul, relieves suffering. If in Ukrainian folklore the defender is a man, then in the Kurdish folklore the national hero is a young girl. She is very brave, therefore appears as the image of a lion, a formidable wave, she leads an army. The article states that the national creativity of individual people is an important source in the study of the foundations of people’s morals, ethics and aesthetics.
