Abstract

The author of the essay summarizes the state of research on the work of Zygmunt Gloger and the state of editorial achievements. The conclusions are not comforting. Until 2014, none of the planned critical editions of Gloger’s writings has not been issued. Only the 3-volume edition of Pisma rozproszone (Straggled Writings) has changed this situation, but we are still far from having a complete edition of the works of this ethnographer, writer and historian. Until the 21st century, only two biographies of Gloger have been published (one popular), and only two scientific books devoted to him, including a popular scientific one. The author postulates publishing a full edition of Gloger’s achievements as an important witness to the entire nineteenth century, and a literary achievement.
