Abstract

In the article Belarusian surnames with the Polish origin the Polish influence on the system of Belarusian surnames is considered. The extra- and intra linguistic reasons that determined the Polish language influence are emphasized. It is shown, that first of all it is revealed not is the formal examples, particularly in the frame of the surnames with formants -ski, -tski, but in the content of the basis frames. The following groups of Belarusian surnames which have the features of the Polish influence are clarified: • the surnames of the Polish vowels (Blotsky, Glymbotsky, Szydlowski and under); • the surnames with the basis of Polish‑‑ Catholic proper name (Bunus, Zygmantovich, Stempkovsky and under); • the surnames with the etymological basis originating from the Polish lexemes (Zheglis, Skulinovski, Tsyglyaronak and under), including regional (Vahar, Zhagula, Fugol and under). • The examples when connection between the basis of the surname with the Polish words looks feasible (Zmushko, Lychak, Survila and under), as well as the situation, when the Polish language played an intermediary role in transferring of the foreign (mostly German) lexemes, which the motivative basis of the Belarusian surnames (Bursh, Lamzaki, Shendzil and under) are denoted.
