Egzotyka Chamowa. Metafory przestrzenne Mirona Białoszewskiego

Abstract

Reading Chamowo, published over thirty years after writing, which is Miron Białoszewski’s certain private diary, uncovers very intimate processes of alienation and uprooting. Traces of this traumatic experience are imprinted in the topography of a flat, a block of flats, a nearer and further surroundings; they are spatial imaginarium of the writer struggling with loneliness, disease and increasingly acutely felt ageing. The phenomenon of so outlined ‘Adam’s fall’ and the process of naming the world anew, as well as regaining it “from the beginning”, this is the subject of this paper.
