Ciało jako przestrzeń. Tochmana relacje z Rwandy

Abstract

In Dzisiaj narysujemy śmierć by Wojciech Tochman, a narrative whose subject is the tragedy of the 1994 Rwanda, the body is perceived as a type of an individual’s “historical memory”. History itself undergoes a psychologization in the sense of a registering of meaning, which is revealed to be relevant to each individual by him/herself. In Tochman’s report the body constitutes a topography of crime, being, at times, separated from the narrator him/herself, the victim or the victimizer, who, in this way, evidence the impossibility of integrating traumatic experiences.
