| Abstrakt: | The following articles analyzes the narrative structures and voices appearing in the selected novels and short-stories written by Peter S. Beagle in order to demonstrate the variety of their forms. The chosen texts include examples of metafiction, silencing, multi-vocal narration and memoir, which significantly influence the creation of the secondary worlds and their heroes, and the relation between the text and the reader. A minor aim of this article is to acquaint Polish readers with those works of Peter S. Beagle which have not been translated into Polish. |
| Nota biograficzna: | WERONIKA ŁASZKIEWICZ – asystent w Instytucie Neofilologii Uniwersytetu w Białymstoku. Doktorat w zakresie literaturoznawstwa obroniła w 2016 r. Jej zainteresowania badawcze obejmują amerykańską i brytyjską literaturą fantastyczną, a przede wszystkim jej powiązania z mitem i religią oraz wizerunki kobiet. Współredagowała tomy Visuality and Vision in American Literature (2014) oraz Dwelling in Days Foregone: Nostalgia in American Literature and Culture (2016). Obecnie przygotowuje do publikacji książkę poświęconą analizie chrześcijańskich wątków obecnych w wybranych cyklach amerykańskiej i kanadyjskiej literatury fantasy. |
