Dziecinne lekcje Realności. Tajemnica bursztynowej szkatułki i cykl o Patalonkach Jana Drzeżdżona

Abstract

The author analyses four novels for juvenile readers by Jan Drzeżdżon “The Secret of the Amber Box” (Tajemnica bursztynowej szkatułki), “The Land of Patalonki” (Kraina Patalonków), “The Search” (Poszukiwania) and “Among the People” (Wśród ludzi). He points out that this children's fiction has all characteristic elements of Drzeżdżon’s writings. What is more its fantastical reality emerged from ideas crucial for modernity and modern 20th century literature. Concepts of Reality and Autonomy were fundamental for modern Polish literature and therefore Drzeżdżon’s fiction depended on this antinomic ideas. The author claims that Drzeżdżon tried to deal with modern literary discourse but in order to stand its paradoxes rather then remove them.
