Człowiek i przestrzeń w białoruskim dramacie współczesnym (wybrane zagadnienia)

Abstract

The present article is devoted to modern Belarusian dramatic texts which most expressively depict the relationship between man and the space surrounding him. The author refers to dramas by A. Pietraszkiewicz, A. Dudarau, M. Arachousky, S. Kawalou and I. Sidaruk which exemplify the two-way character of man’s existence in space and present various literary realisations of this issue. The relationship between man and space, which is present in the texts discussed, becomes a very significant clue inviting anthropological analysis. As the author claims, the space is relatively rarely neutral, indifferent to anyone who found himself within its range. The space definitely more often becomes axiologically and historically characterised; it acquires mythical features and becomes a place.
