Abstract

The decline of the great ideologies is leading to the loss of importance of knowledge of the history of political and legal doctrines. Hardly anyone is interested today in visions of social order. Legal standards are changed to accord with the interests of dominant social unions and in consequence, legal history is now of interest to very few people; knowledge of the history of political and legal doctrines does not attract too much attention. In modern democracy argument and discussion is irrelevant, the only consideration being the results of electoral voting. Therefore, possessing knowledge of the history of political and legal doctrines is not only regarded as unnecessary but more as an obstacle to modifying the law according to the needs of the rulers, especially the dominant oligarchy.
