Abstrakt: The originality of Christian eschatology is rooted in the event which is Jesus Christ. The New Testament contains three facts regarding the resurrection of Jesus Christ: a) the fact that the crucified Jesus is the same person as the risen Jesus; b) the crucified Jesus lives, he rose from the dead to a new life, entirely different from our life here on earth; c) through resurrection Jesus was raised to the right hand of the Father, he has become the "Lord" and "Savior" of the people and the world. By no means was the faith of the early church limited merely to concluding that Jesus rose from the dead. Even the title "Kyrios" assigns divine attributes to Christ. A significant progress in the reflection on the divine character of Jesus and on his human reality can be found in the theology of the Epistle to the Hebrews, which talks about the union of divinity and humanity in Lord Jesus. St. Luke sees the death and resurrection of Christ as a salvific act of God, and he perceives the earthly life of Jesus as the fulfillment of salvation. St. John in his theology shows a deep vision of the eschatological character of the mystery of Jesus Christ. His divinity as the Word and the Only-begotten Son of the Father give a final meaning to his earthly existence. When Jesus carne to the world, the Word of God entered history and "dwelled among us". Despite some differences, the New Testament presents Jesus as a realization of the human existence of the Son of God all the way to resurrection. The final word of God about the Messiah, about humanity and about the world was completed in the human reality of Christ. The incarnation, death and resurrection of the Son of God are the three crucial moments of the same event, which need to be interpreted in relation to each other with in the life of Jesus Christ.
