O pewnym sposobie definiowania leksyki konfesyjnej w «Словаре современного русского литературного языка» (1950–1965)

Abstract

The article is focused on the problem of using terms such as реакционный, идеалистический, шовинистический, буржуазный in a lexicographic description of Russian religious lexis during the Soviet period. The research, which was based on explanatory dictionaries edited before and after the October Revolution, showed that the analyzed lexical means have begun to be used only since the Soviet times. All of them were characterized by context-independent pejorative implication. Some of them were primarily negative-marked (i.e. враждебный, суеверный) and some gathered that kind of implication only in the Soviet period (i.e. буржуазный, идеалистический). They all didn’t change the basic meaning of religious lexis, however, they generated strongly negative connotations for it, i.e. мессианизм, мессианство – реакционное шовинистическое учение об особой роли данного народа в судьбах человечества.
