| dc.description.abstract | In his article, Michał Siedlecki interprets picture of Lithuanian culture in Palanga by Tadeusz Miciński (1873-1918). According to researcher, Lithuania, by the author of Monk Faust (1913), mainly remains flowery, just like writers language. Artistic counterfeit of Samogitia, made by poet on the pages of his reportage is full of antinomian comparisons and metaphors. It’s living poetry, under going various metamorphoses. So, it’s not only colorful world of native and foreign artists, editors, journalists, priests, social and political activists, scientists, who visited Samogitian resort in mass, often creating their grand workshare or taking active part in life of local bohemia. It s also local, very original beliefs, folklore and customs, which grew out of old pagan myths, in later times adopted in many aspects by christianity, nascent in this lands in medieval times. It’s also local nature, whith er unmeasured sands, forest and humming sea, such colorfully and poetically depicted by Miciński. Also local resorts, cuisine, monuments, infrastructure and mainly - what sholud be emphasized - common, centuries old polish-lithuanian history, which was witnessed many times by half-mitical Palanga. | pl |
