Cecha percepcyjna ‘wymiar’ w semantyce rzeczowników współczesnego języka rosyjskiego

Abstract

In the article its author investigates the feature of dimension in the semantics of contemporary Russian nouns and presents a range of semantic fields in which they occur. Data show that perceptual features characterizing relative dimensions of objects and qualifying general dimension prevail in the semantics of nouns. In the definitions of lexical meaning these features are designated by the following adjectives: big, huge, small, tiny. Perceptual feature of dimension is one of the most frequent in the semantic meaning of lexical units in modern Russian.
