Термины «абсурд», «парадокс», «нонсенс» в контексте теории сатиры и гротеска

Abstract

The article reviews the literary works devoted to the phenomenon of literary absurd and attempts to characterize its relationship with satire and grotesque; as a philosophical-aesthetic phenomenon absurd is close to grotesque, it can be considered as the ultimate accumulation of grotesqueness and the stage where it starts losing its meaning. The article points out the different kinds of absurd and ways of absurdity in classical Russian literature (Pushkin, Gogol, Dostoevsky), the legacy of Oberiuts (Charms, Waginow), the experimental prose of the Soviet period (Wojnowicz, Aksionow) and works of Russian postmodernists (Wien. Erofeyev, T. Tolstoy and others). As a stylistic trick absurdity often acts as a factor constituting a satire or satirical burlesque, as a philosophical-literary category it can function next to the satire or as the overriding phenomenon. Language experiments of Oberiut poets, precursors of this phenomenon on a global scale, are an example of absurd in Russian literature that is not associated with satire.
