Роль и место аббревиатур в русском специальном языке информатики

Abstract

The empirical base for this article has been excerped from the Enlish-Polish-Russian-Belarussian Dictonary on Informatics and Computer technology by Roman Hajczuk and Aleksander Zubow published in 2003. The lexicographic work contains 1230 Russian acronyms. Additionally, the empirical base from seven other IT dictionaries published in Russia and Poland in the years 2000-2006 has been used. Hence 1700 acronyms of the Russian language of computing have been analysed. The research carried out shows that in this area of the language the initial acronyms (letter acronyms, sound acronyms) constitute the majority 1100 abbreviations, followed by disintegrated abbreviations (i.e. the first unit deleted, the other full) - 345 abbreviations. The next group is represented by mixed abbreviations 205, the penultimate ones being the measurement units - 45, while the last one contains 5 group and syllable acronyms.
