    dc.description.abstractThe article presents a review of the state of research on contemporary Russian press language based on publications in the periodical Russkaya Rech in 2007-2009. It contains information on the most important characteristics of the Russian press language, because it discusses the idiosyncrasy and richness of the language (spoken language, elements of colloquial language, neologisms, borrowings, language vulgarization, aphoristics), as well as the style and stylistic devices, the role and construction of headlines, language strategies, functions of a publicistic text and potential faults of a press text.pl
