O kilku powszechnych na Białostocczyźnie nazwiskach pochodzenia litewskiego

Abstract

The article presents the etymological analysis of Lithuanian surnames on the territory of their appearing in separate districts. The article revealed, that genetically Lithuanian surnames usually appear in a form, which adopted Slavonic features. Furthermore, the surnames of Baltic origin have survived on the territory, where nowadays the population do not know Lithuanian language, they speak Polish or Belorussian and do not have a sense of national identity.
