Abstract

The frequency of the usage of the term “educational text” m the scientific circulation reąuires the necessity to identify its specific character as the main component of the school textbook. The text which is included in the didactic context acąuires additional characteristics during the educational process. This process is natural as it’s impossible to ąualify an educational text outside its functional surroundings. Undoubtedly the educational process determines in a certain way the distinguished features of the object. Under the conditions of the educational communication a text becomes the basis of the communicative activities. It is an organie part of the communicative act and also acts as its significant component. By the means of a text a teacher organizes and directs the textual activities aimed at the understanding of the author's tasks. On the basis of the given text a pupil builds his own projection of the unit which is madę on the basis of the initial, author’s unit. From the position of the trinomial structure of the activity a text can be called educational if it acts as a basis for the educational communication and fulfils the didactic tasks. In the structural plan an educational text consists of the problem task, the text itself (on its basis textual activity is organized) and the tasks which determine the degree of tlie given Information. When one of these components is missing a text becomes an object of some other, not educational activity.
