Abstract

The specific kind of depreciation of religious lexicon in the great academic Словарь современного русского литературного языка is a subject of this article. The analysis present that the religious lexicon was marked by the labels such as: в православной религии, в православной церкви, в христианской религии, религии, у верующих, у христиан. During the Soviet epoch they had strongly negative character, because they were connected with the religious aspect of life that was evaluated very pejoratively that time and they emphasised the ideological distinction of their designatum. Additionally, they reflected the ideological opposition between us - them.
