Abstract

Cogitative and grammatic factors of an origin of an aphorism in histories of language, social linguistic and social cultural functions of an aphorism at different stages of a history of a society are defined. Gnosiological applicability of an aphorism in a primitive society (a priority of declarative function), social and cultural applicability of an aphorism in Middle Ages (a priority of directive function), linguistic applicability of an aphorism in 17-18 and in 19-20 centuries (a priority of function of generalization of the reality) are described. Historical dynamics of functions of an aphorism is analyzed. Universal character of function of generalization of the reality is proved.
