Abstract

Ways of expressing the national life conception in the byelorussian prose of the 20th century are investigated. The purpose of the thesis consists in interpreting the 20th century byelorussian literature as an attitudinal basis of national and sta- tal existence, of the byelorussian prose national peculiarity in the mother contry and abroad. The literary activity of byelorussians abroad was analyzed in ageneral national context. Asit shown in the thesis the Byelorashan literature of the soviet period was in a state of ideological restrain. So the function of realizing the national idea and pathos in the years 1930/1970 was carried out by the Byelorussian literature abroad. Right there the ideological basis of the national life conception of that time. V. Lastovsky’s works of his emigration period (“The labyrinths”, stories) are analyzed in the context of the Byelorussian historical prose of the 20th century, the reflection of national life paradigm in the prose of a Byelorussian literature initiator is studied and the development of lastovsky’s traditions in creative activity of J. Dyla, V. Karathcevich, U. Sluchanski, P. Vazjorny and other writers is discussed.
