Abstract

Genre characteristics of Belorussian humoristic prose in the beginning of the 20th century - specific stage on the way to develop satiric belles-lettres in the 30s of the 20th century - have been described. With the examples of compositions of A. Mryi (stories, novel “Zapisky Samsona Samsuya”), Kupala’s (tragicomedy “Tuteyshya”), K. Krapiva’s (comedies “Kto smiajetsa aposhnim”, “Mily chalaviek”, “Brama nieumiruchasti”) the meaning idea of prose in such order is analyzed. It is stated that the process of formation and development of satiric prose in the 30s of the 20th century was progressing in the following order: from humoristic image of existance with anecdotes and carnival elements to entertain readers to deepen satiric reasoning of the problems of the most revolutionary reality, from light humour to social satire with apocaliptic motives.
