    Abstrakt: The definition of sound symbol has been given. Ways of expressing artistic information from letter-sound combination without direct lexical meaning have also been explained. The mechanisms relating to latent links of sound and soundless images in poetry have been analyzed. The author mentioned positive reasons which radical sound symbolists (A. Biely, V. Hlebnikov and the others) had considered to form special poetic sound-language.
