Abstract

The State's Economic Arbitration was a specific governmental institution, which existed in Communist Poland. It was founded in 1949. Its main function was to arbitrate in the legal disputes between state owned enterprises. However, the Arbitration was also taking part in State business administration, it had an influence on the contents of contracts between state's enterprises. There were many changes in the legal status of this institution. They were connected with the attempts to modernize communist economy. These attempts were not successful on both ofthese two fields, so in 1989 The State's Economic Arbitration was liquidated.
