Tomizm na tle innych nurtów filozofii chrześcijańskiej

Abstract

The notion Christian philosophy is related to various philosophical trends, which have common background - they are not contradictory with basie ideas of Christian religion. Among others, we should distinguish: Christian personalism, philosophy of Teilhard de Chardin, Christian existentialism, augustianism and tomism. The lasttwo of them arethe most important, however tomism is a predominant one. Tomism acknowledges the autonomy of intellect. It understands the philosophy as a knowledge based on its own rules and methods. The characteristicfeature of tomism is related to metaphysical realism, which is the ground for proving of God's existence and existence of human soul. Tomism enablesthe intellectual interpretation of data through the metaphysical notions.
