Abstract

The main focus of the article is to investigate the characteristics of the language of disgust as an artistic tool in rap, and to consider its acceptability in the sphere of public discourse as a form of artistic expression. An analysis of individual lexemes expressing disgust revealed that they constitute a broad spectrum of ways to evoke specific emotions in the recipient, as well as to enrich the artistic layer of a certain work. In the case of Słoń, all linguistic, moral and cultural aberrations form an integral part of the genre in which the rapper specializes, i.e., horrorcore. The conclusion of the analysis is that rap, as a form of art, is characterized by creative freedom, which means that even obscene language may function in the public domain.
