Abstract

The article explores Fr. Kazimierz Kułakowski’s contribution to the post-conciliar renewal of moral theology in Poland. It presents how he responded to the challenges posed by the Second Vatican Council, particularly through the lens of Gaudium et spes and Optatam totius. Kułakowski regarded moral theology as a dynamic discipline rooted in the Revelation, which must respond to the signs of the times. He emphasised a personalist and Christocentric approach, highlighting the idea of vocation as central to the Christian morality. The article also examines his concern for integrating sacramental life, ecclesial community, and a Trinitarian perspective into moral formation. Finally, it analyses his role as an educator and his critical yet balanced assessment of the Polish post-conciliar moral theology textbooks, showing his cautious openness to theological innovation grounded in tradition.
