W trosce o kulturę książki: głosy publicystów niepodległościowych (Stefan Żeromski, Zdzisław Dębicki)

Abstract

During the period of independence, writers from the partition period participated in journalistic discussions about the vision of culture in the reborn Polish state. A key theme in the proposed cultural projects was the book as a binding force for social life, a model of correct Polish, and a source of cultural identity. This article analyzes the journalistic statements of Stefan Żeromski and Zdzisław Dębicki regarding the relationship between books and culture. The discussed issues, addressed by independence journalists, fit into the current understanding of the category of book culture.
