Niebinarność jako wyzwanie wobec komunikacji

Abstract

This article is an attempt to highlight the most important communication problems that non-binary people face on a daily basis. The author divided the text into several parts: 1) an introduction containing general reflections on the discussed problem and an explanation of the research procedure and composition of the article; 2) a sociological and cultural science introduction, in which the author’s position on the vague definitions of gender and non-binary is described; 3) the theoretical and linguistic part, i.e. an outline of communication problems faced by non-binary people and their systemic, political and social basis; 4) the analysis of the selected inclusive strategies taken from the website www.zaimki.pl and an attempt to evaluate their usefulness on the basis of the data collected in interviews with non-binary people; 5) an original attempt to find effective ways to deal with the discussed communication difficulties, along with a description of the principles of inclusive communication. Due to the complexity of the problem under discussion, the article was written in the spirit of the broadly understood humanistic interdisciplinarity, therefore the combination of sociological, anthropological, cultural and linguistic perspectives used in it seems not only justified, but also the only correct solution.
