Grit – a concept introduced to the world of science thanks to Angela Lee Duckworth, is in the light of current research one of the best predictors of broadly understood success, both in educational and professional areas. The article reviews the research proving the connection of the grit factor with achievements in various spheres of life, ranging from school performance of pupils and success in marriage to chances of success of tradesmen and military men in their fields of activity. What is also discussed are the possibilities of building grit of individuals at the early stages of development through specific educational activities, as well as the possibilities of shaping the grit culture in family, organizations and within entire communities.pl
