Kształtowanie postaw wobec odmienności jako nowe zadanie wychowania

Abstract

It is very natural, that distinctiveness is conspicous and attracts one's notice. When children and young people catch the sigh of difference, they respond on it, but it is rather uncommon to respond with acceptance of it. In consequence, modern education system is to open students eyes to fact, the differences should not lead to their "entrenching" in the aversion and disinclination. Openess for other cultures is not only possible but, what's more important - necessary and needful. People should not confine themselves to one, even the biggest, culture, they also should not only tolerate differences. It is extremely important to take adventage of diffrences in order to enrichment and development. Nowadays. a school is an institution with an ability to fulfil the idea of multicultural and intercultural education, and initiate changes in awareness and attitudes toward differences and distinctiveness. Schools can create suitable competences based on solid and genuine knowledge in order both: to place themselves in their own culture and form openess to other cultures.
