Abstract

Author points on the need of creating the new educational strategies in order to forming suitable cultural attitudes on both, micro and macro, levels, and the Intercultural Education is to play the most important role in the process of getting the intercultural competencies and attitudes, which are obtained by the constant communication and negotiation of values and interests of different national and religion groups. He assumes, the multiculturalism is a fact but inteculturalism is a challenge and a great purpose for education, and according to that, educators has to answer the question who do they want to educate to, what social roles will their students play in the future, how to help them and support them in acquiring certain values in the current world with it's nationalism, fanaticism, xenophobias, megalomania, terrorism and discrimination. In the process of planning Intercultural Education, according to J. Nikitorowicz, very important are following issues: 1. Intercultural Education rise from monoculturalism and regional closeness and from multiculturalism as a source of a need to be "between" cultures. 2. Intercultural Education consider values, as an element of culture functioning in different dimensions. 3. It is related to the term of Culture and points on the existence of equal right cultures being transformed in by the process of transmission of values and patterns, and every method of getting learn about others considered from own point of view, is an element of personal development.
