Prawosławna leksyka konfesyjna w opisie słownikowym - okres radziecki i teraźniejszość

Abstract

The problem of description of Russian religious lexis in the latest Russian language dictionaries (Efremova 2000; Kuznetsov 1998; Ozhegov, Shvedova 2005) is focused in this paper. Political and social changes, which took place in Russia within the last fifteen years, caused that lexicographic description of that kind of lexis have been verified. It was thoroughly corrected in accor dance with the actual reception of religious lexis by contemporary Russian people. Applied changes mostly consisted in removing out of the dictionary description some pejorative components that were used in the Soviet period. It brought about a modification in the semantic-connotative and stylistic structure (melioration and actualization) most of analyzed lexical units. Only a smalI number of them were described in the same manner as in the Soviet dictionaries. It allows supposing that they definitely have undergone secularization (i.e. бoгoсиɑcaeмый - in the Soviet period and present Russian 'living in peace', in 19t h century Russian 'living in peace by God's care') or have been moved to the passive vocabulary (i.e. хриcтapaдnuчamь for the Soviet period and the present Russian this word is obsolete, in 19th century Russian it was common).
