dc.description.abstract | Nowadays the need of changing one's attitude from multiculturalism to intercultural view of the world is stressed more frequently. It means reshaping relations based on a system of mutual reactions into direction of forming interactions between equal partners. This requires shaping intercultural sensitivity, tolerant attitude as well as possessing communicative skills. In this process the most important role plays education. It's essential that taking on actions aimed at preparation for life in conditions of cultural diversity should start at early age. The main aim of contemporary school is strengthening, by means of methodology, process of making young people more sensitive to cultural distinctness, which should be initiated at famiIy home. Early school age on account of specificity of cognitive function development and child's psychosocial features, exceptionally gives the rise to socio-cultural sensitivity. Realisation of this priority demands changes inside teaching program and additional teachers' preparation. Appropriately intended education becomes more and more important, on account of the fact that in Polish schools the number of pupils who come from outside Poland and whom educational needs should be taken into account with special care is rising. Presence in the school classrooms pupils belonging to different cultural groups can constitute a chance for mutual adaptation with otherness, establishing matey interactions, which gives an opportunity for exchanging values and personal growth. | pl |
