Gdy Temida pogrąża się w lekturze . . . Dziwne przypadki pisarzy-zabójców

Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of links between literature and crime. The author points to figures from all over the world who - in their works - combine fascination with words and sadistic, often psychopathic predispositions. The most detailed description concerns Krystian Bala, a Polish writer-murderer whose book Amok helped resolve the mystery of murdering a businessman from Wrocław. In addition, the article sheds light on a few key issues which emerge from the reflections over the criminal aspect of literature and could contribute to further research conducted with the help of classical tools of literary studies.
