Abstract

The article presents the relation of the centre to the province in European culture. The analytical material is The Map and the terrority by Michel Houellebeq. The novel concerns between man and culture space. For the analysis of the views by the concepts, I used concepts of hermeneutics (place, space). First, I used the relation between the local prospects of key words meeting with the prospect of a global and universal. Secondly, I want show the experience of the space which is always marked by loneliness, as the author of the novel presents the figures artistes. In Houellebeq expressing space, places are filled with loneliness. The object of reflection is also a category of Being and humanity in relation to the category of space in the perspective of the culture philosophy. Local perspective is an opportunity to learn and create you, art, and culture.
